Murdoch Children's Research Institute

Dr Adam Piers completed his PhD at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute in 2016, where he investigated the role of the protease ADAMTS5 in muscle development and muscular dystrophy. Following completion of his PhD, Dr Piers worked as a clinical research coordinator linking heart research at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute with the Royal Children's Hospital departments of cardiology, cardiac surgery and ICU. Alongside Prof Konstantinov and A/Prof Porrello, Dr Piers helped setup CardioRegen, and now manages the centre, including the Melbourne Heart Tissue Bank.
