Professor Robert Weintraub

Prof Robert Weintraub is a paediatric cardiologist at the Royal Children’s Hospital. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Sydney and trained in paediatrics at the Prince of Wales Children's Hospital in Sydney. After completing a fellowship in paediatric cardiology at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Prof Weintraub worked as paediatric cardiologist at Harefield Hospital in the UK, gaining experience in heart transplantation and then as a National Heart Foundation Research Fellow at the University of California Medical Center, San Diego. He returned to Australia in 1992 and runs the paediatric heart failure, transplant and pulmonary hypertension programs at the Royal Children's Hospital. He has long-standing research interests in cardiovascular genetics and has contributed to numerous national initiatives in this field.
